This is the CSVA:Collegiate Sports Video AssociationThe CSVA will have their annual convention in Orlando, FL from May 12-14 at the Renaissance Orlando Resort at Sea World© More from this issue The objective of the Collegiate Sports Video Association is to promote the role of the Video Coordinator position in the sports industry. The CSVA will be a forum to: • evaluate professional standards among all Video Coordinators • facilitate the exchange of information and technological innovations • advance ethical procedures and quality techniques • raise the awareness of the role that Video Coordinators play within the athletic environment The Collegiate Sports Video Association is continuing its efforts to heighten its Active and Business membership. Currently, CSVA’s membership and recruitment efforts are focused on collegiate and high school athletic Video Coordinators. While most of the current collegiate membership represent Video Departments which cater to mainly the respective institution’s football or basketball programs, all areas of the collegiate field of communications are being targeted by the CSVA. Full-time, part-time, and students are welcomed and encouraged to join the association. Among the activities at this May’s convention will be the following awards: • The Bob Matey Video Coordinator of the Year Award (named in honor of Texas A & M’s former Video Coordinator, Bob Matey) • The Conference Video Coordinator of the Year Award (presented each year to the best VC in each conference) • The CSVA Savvy Award (recognizes the creative work done by its members in the field of highlight videos) • The CSVA Lifetime Achievement Award For further information log onto www.csva.com |
