My Question is , Do you all feel that you have to be a Teacher to be a High School, or College Football coach. I know by experience that finding coaches is hard to do. Dose a Head coach or an assistant need to be a Teacher in the School System? Would appreciate all answeres on this. Thank-you, Joe Wright

I'm a self Employed Business owner that has been a High School Football assistant for 7 years. My Question is, How dose a High School assistant get into coaching College football full time. Any suggestions would be gratefull. I have coached, Running Backs, Quarterbacks, Linebackers, & D-Backs. I like coaching D-Backs the best, but am willing to coach anything, and anyway a Head coach would want it done. Thanks for your time & advice. Joe Wright

I am currently finishing my B.A. in Science and Math and will be enrolling in grad school as soon as I finish up these last 22 semester hours of undergrad. I am looking for ANY coaching positions at the high school level in NE Alabama and NW Georgia. Through the fifth year grad program I will have a temp. teaching certificate until receiving my master's. I lean toward the defensive side of the ball with good knowledge of the 4-3 defense, but I will coach any position available. If anyone has any leads please let me know. I hope to graduate by the end of summer and be ready to teach by the start of school fall 02'. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I would like to make the fullback trap more prevelant in our offense. The problem I have run into is the 4-4 defense. We play a lot of teams who play the 4-4 and are sending the two inside backers all the time. In our offense we teach our linemen to line up with one yard line splits. My question is what is the best way to block the fb trap against a blitzing 4-4 without giving the play away by cutting the line splits.
Any Suggestions would help.

I have an idea of of taking the soph and varsity levels and combining them. The best 11 on each side of the ball, regardless of age, will play varsity. The others will play on their level (soph, JV, Varsity). Any pitfalls? Anybody tried this? How has it worked?
