Hall of Fame Has a New Executive Director
Hall of Fame Has a New Executive DirectorRick Walls was recently named the new executive director of the College Football Hall of Fame in South Bend, Indiana. The announcement came from John Hanson, Chairman of the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame, Inc. Walls, formerly the director of operations for the Morristown, NJ – based NFF, begins his new duties in early April.

Walls received a bachelor’s degree in Sports Sciences from Ohio University and began his involvement with the College Hall of Fame – then located in Kings Island, Ohio – as an intern. He then accepted a temporary position as assistant director of the Traveling College Football Hall of Fame. After five months of traveling around the country, Walls accepted a full-time position with the organization.

When the Hall moved to South Bend in 1993, Walls moved as well and became the liaison between the Hall and the design companies that were creating and building the new facility. With the facility complete, Walls left the organization but later rejoined the NFF as special projects and eastern region coordinator. He was then promoted to director of public relations and, in 2002, became the NFF’s director of operations.
