QB Travis Jackson 6-4 215 4.5 Has a great arm and can throw on the run; threw for 17 TDs and ran for five more as a junior. QB Ingle Martin 6-3 190 4.7 A strong and elusive runner who makes good decisions; last year passed for 1,450 yards and 14 TDs for state champion team. QB Joe Mauer 6-4 210 4.6 Could be the top QB recruit in the nation next year; from same high school program that produced Chris Weinke and Steve Walsh. QB Adrian McPherson 6-4 175 4.5 A legend-in-the-making in the Sunshine State; passed for 2,434 yards and 33 TDs last season and is also a blue chip basketball prospect. QB John Sciarra 6-2 185 4.7 An extremely poised leader who passed for 2,861 yards and 28 TDs in 1999. His father (John Sr.) was MVP of the 1976 Rose Bowl as a QB for UCLA. RB Cedric Benson 6-0 202 4.6 Last season's player of the year in Texas as just a junior; rushed for 3,526 yards and 44 TDs for the nation's No. 3 team. RB Sylvester Brown 5-10 200 4.6 A tough runner between the tackles; rushed for a state-record 2,675 yards and 18 TDs for last year's 5A state champs. RB Kevin Jones 6-1 210 4.3 A brilliant mix of speed and power who has already rushed for 61 TDs in his career; boasts a 350-pound bench press and squats 450. RB Jamaal Butler 6-0 190 4.35 A two-time all-stater whose slashing moves are reminiscent of Eric Dickerson; rushed for over 2,000 yards as a junior. RB Willie Reid 5-11 175 4.5 A fast and elusive runner with a nose for the goal line; totaled 2,098 yards and 25 TDs last season. RB Otis Shannon 5-9 185 4.5 A strong and durable runner who can hit the open lanes like a shot; rushed for 2,599 yards in his first 12 games, including a state single-game record of 489 yards. RB Seymore Shaw 6-0 210 4.5 Coach Gary Higgins says Shaw runs "like a bull in a china shop." A power back who rushed for 2,370 yards and 23 scores last year. RB Carnell Williams 6-1 195 4.5 An exciting runner with great balance and spin moves; rushed for 2,620 yards and 36 TDs for a state-champion team last season. FB Caleb Mayer 6-0 236 4.8 A bruising Mike Alstott clone with a great work ethic; squats 510 pounds and averaged 92 yards rushing per game last season. FB Matt Tant 6-0 210 4.5 Harpeth Has a great combination of speed and power and averaged 9.76 yards per carry last season; checks in at only 7-percent body fat. WR Angelo Chattams 5-10 180 4.5 A fluid receiver with excellent speed (10.8 100m); had 80 catches for 1,486 yards and 23 TDs last season. WR Roscoe Crosby 6-3 190 4.4 Has tremendous speed and athleticism and the ability to make the circus catch; had 80 receptions for 1,431 yards and 21 TDs as a junior. WR Montrell Jones 6-2 195 4.4 An awesome combination of speed and pure athleticism who could be the nation's top WR recruit next year. Had 71 receptions for 1,427 yards and 22 TDs in '99. |
