Letter From the Editor/Publisher: The Countdown is on to AFM University Clinics

The first of four AFM University clinics kicks off the weekend of February 8-9 in St. Paul. The last one is in Kansas City on February 29-March lst. Among the coaches speaking at the clinics will be representatives from the BCS National Champion LSU Tigers and the Junior College National Champions, Butler Community College. Each clinic will have a combination of national, regional and local speakers. Here is a sampling of some of the sessions on each weekend:

St. Paul • February 8-9:

• Hal Mumme of New Mexico State: The Air Raid Offense-Quick Passing Game.
• Ron Roberts of Delta State: Defending The Inside and Perimeter Run Game In The 3-3 Defense.
• Tony Buthe of New Prague High School (MN): Developing A Winning Tradition In Your High School Program.

Indianapolis • February 15-16:

• Torrian Gray of Virginia Tech: Quarters Coverages Concept.
• Steve Specht of St. Xavier (OH): The St. Xavier Inside/Outside Zone Blocking Schemes.
• Russ Isaacs of Snider High School, Ft. Wayne (IN): Evolution From The I Formation To The Gun Run Game.

Dearborn • February 22-23:

• Ron Vanderlinden of Penn State: Penn State Zone and Stunt Package.
• Bobby April of the Buffalo Bills: Special Teams Organization.
• Tom Hoover of Allen Park High School (MI): Screen Passes From Multiple Sets.

Kansas City • February 29-March 1:

• Joe Bob Clements of San Diego State: D-Line Run Techniques.
• Mel Tjeerdsma of Northwest Missouri State: Practice Organization.
• Jeff Gross of McCook High School (NE): Setting Up Your Offensive Run Game By Gaps.
