A Welcome Promotionby: Rex LardnerEditor American Football Monthly © More from this issue For the last year and a half, Mike Kuchar has contributed to AFM as a free-lance writer. He's written numerous pieces in addition to his daily duties as both an assistant football coach and teacher at North Brunswick Township High School in New Jersey. He also was a defensive end at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT, team captain, and class of 2000. Mike has specialized in covering the new and innovative offenses that AFM has published over the last year. Among them: The Spin, The Pistol, and the A-11. He has also contributed team building features such as his most recent article on Coach Jay Locey at Oregon State and his unique ways to motivate the Beavers. More than anything else, Mike's background as a coach gives subscribers a unique point of view. Now, we’re excited to announce that Mike will have an expanded roll at AFM and contribute in a variety of ways as our Senior Writer. By doing so it gives AFM the opportunity to dig deeper into the details of each subject. Mike will continue to write about specific topics and give our readers a coach’s perspective. As the magazine has become more strategy and X’s and O’s oriented, expanding Mike’s roll seems like a natural way to go. You'll potentially see Coach Kuchar on the road, either at your school or campus or at a convention down the way. Mike will also inherit the Letter From The Editor column that I’ve written the last four years. It will give readers a fresh approach to topical items of the day. My role becomes more management based and I'll continue as Managing Editor for both American Football Monthly and our recent acquisition, Gridiron Strategies. GS is published 6 times annually and includes the latest clinic information written by coaches. A new feature of GS will be a detailed Q & A with a different coach monthly. All of us welcome Mike in his new and expanded position at AFM. We hope you enjoy this issue. Respectfully, Rex Lardner AFM Managing Editor rlardner@lcclark.com 561-355-5068 (x 329) |
