Letter from the PublisherThe name is changing... but the magazine is the same... introducing American Football Monthly...© More from this issue In May of 1999, we changed the format of our magazine from a quarterly publication to monthly. We made this change as a result of a demand from our readers, who wanted up-to-the-minute information about their profession. We had lived four years as a quarterly magazine, and it was time to grow. At that time, we chose the name American Football Coach as our new title. It was our thinking that as a magazine for the real heroes of the game, the thousands of men who toil hour-after-hour on practice fields, in cramped offices, and darkened film rooms across the nation, we should include their name in the title; thus American Football Coach. It never entered our mind that anyone could possibly confuse our magazine with the organization, American Football Coaches Association. However, some name confusion has arisen between the American Football Coaches Association and American Football Coach magazine and the AFCA requested that we make a title change to eliminate further confusion. We agreed to comply with this request and now are very pleased to introduce our new title American Football Monthly. Everything is still the same: the same look, the same content, the only publication designed exclusively as a trade journal for football coaches.....just with a new title. Sincerely, Barry Terranova |
